Jobfox Scam Allegation

Jobfox Scam Allegation Research

•Jobfox is a scam

As this site illustrates, Jobfox is not a scam. Far less than 1% of Jobfox users are unhappy.

•Jobfox doesn’t apply people to jobs

Jobfox does business with over 5,000 companies, helping them fill their job openings. There is no evidence to suggest that Jobfox doesn’t apply people to jobs

•Jobfox charges you to apply/ be considered for a job

The person(s) who made this accusation was confused. You can absolutely search and apply for jobs on Jobfox for free. In fact, the company reports that more than 99% of its users are absolutely free users, choosing not to pay for a premium service.

The Jobfox premium job search products have received very strong accolades from users. Check out the Break Through Reviews to learn more about it. As you will see, it is a purely optional service.

Here is an official Jobfox statement that describes their sales strategy:

"Jobfox has always been about allowing you to choose the job search and resume support services you feel will deliver the most benefit. For that reason, we offer many FREE services such as the job matching, sending applications to employers, and we also provide a free resume critique. In addition, Jobfox also offers premium PAID services, such as our  professional resume rewriting services and access to advanced tools with a monthly subscription. Both services provide great value; however, these paid services are completely optional.  Seeing and applying to jobs is always FREE."

•Jobfox doesn’t have permission to post employer jobs / Jobfox steals jobs

•Why can’t I find jobs listed on Jobfox on the employer’s website?

Jobfox diligently and consistently reviews job listings on our site in order to keep them current, and takes a number of steps to ensure the integrity of our jobs, including:

  1. Validating that a job is real at the time of initial posting

  2. Running daily programs against many direct employer sites validating a job is still available

  3. Building in safeguards to the process by having dedicated staffers hand validate jobs on a regular basis

We fully understand how frustrating it can be for users when our listings do not appear on an employer’s website. Ensuring every job is valid at any given moment in time is difficult for all job-related sites – including Jobfox. Reasons a job on Jobfox may not appear on the employer’s website range from the company’s site itself being out of date (particularly common with smaller firms lacking resources to regularly update site) to the time lag that occurs between when a job is removed and when Jobfox is notified. And in some cases companies don’t post every available vacancy on their website.
Jobfox is always striving to do better, and you have our commitment that we will always to our very best to ensure the validity of jobs you access on our site.

•Jobfox doesn’t allow you to easily cancel your Advantage (now Break Through) membership

This is an old issue that has been fixed by Jobfox many months ago. Apparently it used to be difficult to cancel the Jobfox upgraded services pack, which caused many to call Jobfox a Scam.

However, in my investigation I learned it is quite easy to cancel premium memberships which leads me to believe that Jobfox actively responded to customer critiques of Jobfox Scams and changed to make their site better. This type of active development leads me to believe that Jobfox is Not a Scam.
In Jobfox's words:

"It is easy to cancel your Break Through membership by following the steps below:

1) Login to your Jobfox account

2) Click on the "Frequently Asked Questions" link at the top

3) At the bottom of Break Through FAQ page you'll find the link to cancel."

•Jobfox doesn’t provide customer service

I could not find evidence to support this accusation. Jobfox offers extensive customer service, accessible directly inside its products. Recently Jobfox launched an online help forum, designed to help users easily find answers to their most frequent support questions.

Jobfox has millions of users, most of whom are not paying customers. The company is unable to provide telephone service, due to the large and growing base of users. Jobfox offers email support, and online question and response support, which I tested. The support was very high quality, and very responsive to all my test questions.  There are in fact some new support features being added including expanded FAQ and a new Jobfox Support Forum! Again this type of active Jobfox response to customer complaints indicates to me that Jobfox is not a scam.

•Jobfox resume critiques are canned!

Please See Jobfox Resume Critiqued by Humans.

Jobfox critiques more than 100,000 resumes per month, and every critique it completed by a qualified human expert.

•Jobfox posts jobs so they can spam you with resume writing offers

Like virtually every for-profit company, Jobfox offers its members premium services for a fee. These services are completely optional, and Jobfox makes it easy to opt-out of receiving email offers from the company. From our collected Jobfox customer testimonials it appears that Jobfox resume writing is an effective service.
